Waiting For A Letter
While learning how to play guitar back in 2000, I came across a funky open string guitar tuning that Joni Mitchell used on only a few songs, and I tried it. I kept my guitar in that tuning for almost a week because I had such difficulty tuning by ear. By the end of the week Waiting For A Letter was written. I confess I don't remember how to play this song anymore so I don't perform it live. However, I do think it's one of my most romantic, poetic songs to date. I'm not very romantic by nature, to tell the truth, but I'm pleased with this song's sincere and vulnerable sentiment which so honestly reflects human nature when it comes to love, longing and hope.
