I wrote Willow in a hotel in New York in January 2005. There was a freak blizzard that grounded most flights and I split the room fee with a young woman who was also trapped in N.Y.C. We were bound for Florida and didn't have the right clothes to get outside. She watched t.v. and I wrote Willow.
