Blame It On The Moon
I wrote this song just for the pure fun of writing a silly love song. I didn't actually intend to release it because I'm not a huge fan of love songs in general. I still maintain that I'm not a real Romantic. But this song was so catchy that eventually I gave in and recorded it just to get the loop of it out of my head. I'm glad I did because it's fun to perform live and it's a feel-good song that people like to sing along with.
It was a picture perfect moon
that shone on you and me
the moon and you conspired that night
to sweep me off my feet
it was lunar, mystic madness
that crept inside my head
and wound its way down to my heart
while you were standing there
I don't know if I'm lost or found
and I'm not so sure I care
all I know is how good I feel
but when they ask me I declare
blame it on the moon
or something in the air
maybe it was sorcery
some hocus-pocus magic
must have got the best of me
could've been your lips that sealed my fate
or maybe it was destiny
but I'll blame it on the moon
for shining love on you and me
it was the glow, soft as candlelight
reflecting off your skin
your laughter was a melody
that hooked and reeled me in
there was music all around us
that only we could hear
it made us dance around the cars
while everybody stared
